From saving classic cars and trucks from the junkyards, to will it start videos, abandoned building exploration, custom car builds, and a whole lot of nonsense in between. My name is Nate and with the help of my girlfriend and camerawoman Jess and our dog Pabst we are having too much fun with old junk! My mission is to create my own personal junkyard saving classic cars and trucks as well as checking out old abandoned places before they are lost to time. I’ve got a small collection of classic vehicles and hope to expand it with many more in the future. Trying to get the free JUNK snowmobile running before the blizzard.
In this episode I try to get a junk 1980 Yamaha SS 440 running and riding in time for the big blizzard of 2025. I got this 1980 Yamaha SS 440 last summer for free when it was dumped at my house. I explain in the video that this is my first experience dealing with a snowmobile. I look it over to try and see why the previous owners gave up on the snowmobile and junked it. I ended up putting the carburetor back on, premixing some fresh fuel and actually got it to run and rode it on the dirt for about 100 feet. The day of the big blizzard here in Illinois I couldn’t get the snowmobile to start but the day was saved when a few friends stopped by on their sxs with a John boat for a sled. We pulled people in the boat behind the sxs and even used an old truck hood that ended up working great. A lot of fun was had and no one was hurt. Thanks again to everybody that showed up to play here at Nasty Customs. I included some bonus footage of actually getting the snowmobile running again after everyone left only for it to shred a drive belt and end the fun. Overall the snowmobile was a bit of a fail but getting to have a great time with everyone made up for it.

@NastyCustoms5150 Hey, alright , I'm looking forward to seeing more on the 59!! I'm doing well, It's been a bit cold , about -15 to -20 Celsius, that's close to zero Fahrenheit. But way better than this time last year was hitting 40 below zero Fahrenheit overnight. Lol work always seems to get in the way of fun. Take care all the best to you and Jess. Cheers 🍻

These vehicles will not only run on dirt but water as well. You just got to keep that belt underneath turning at a high rate. They actually race these things in the summer across ponds and or lakes. If it dies then you sink !

We got buried here in south central Ohio with about 10 inches or so. It's been more snow than prob the last 5 years combined! Yee Hah!!

Your kill switch it likely the reason you lost spark. That sled is a fun sled, you’d love it if you’d spend some time and about a hundred bucks. Running and riding it’s worth 500-1000 bucks to the right person
The kill switch is exactly what got me, thanks again for all the info. We will see what happens with the old sled but if it’s interesting it’ll be in another video!

Ss440’s are awesome, and fast. They were Yamaha’s first modern suspension sled. That’s a low mileage sled

Nothing more fun than riding on a hood in the snow! When I was a kid fifty years ago, our hood was from a 1955 Chevy, and it was pulled by a much older Allis Chalmers tractor. Keep the redneckery coming, i can relate, lol

I picked up a 89 ovation 340 last year for 50 bucks. I have more fun on that than I did on any of my Polaris 800s and it’s easy to get out of the snow when stuck
